Among them is Chris, who has been our volunteer for twenty years.

Supporting clients through a wide range of complex and often challenging tax cases.

As Chris puts it: “In the twenty years I have solved hundreds of cases and returned thousands of pounds back to clients… I still enjoy the work and the satisfaction I get from solving cases.”

“There are no words to express my relief. Thank you so much.”

Imagine you’re a stay-at-home dad looking after two children. Your only income is occasional low-paid gigs as a musician.

Then a tax bill arrives.

For £16,000.

Overwhelmed and with no way to pay a £16,000 tax bill, Daniel called us.

We listened. We worked through his case.

We brought his tax bill down to the amount he actually owed - £4.14

Anil lost his job. Shortly after, he experienced mental health issues.

Then a tax bill arrived.

By the time he was able to deal with his tax, he owed £6,705 in penalties he didn’t understand.

We stepped in. We listened. We appealed.

The debt was wiped out and Anil got the fresh start he was ready for.
