The Maritime Educational Foundation (MEF) is a shipping industry charitable organisation overseen by a board of Trustees who represent Nautilus International, the Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers union (RMT), several UK based shipping companies and the UK Chamber of Shipping. The MEF strives to be a centre of excellence for seafarer training and provides support to the maritime sector for defined education and training purposes.

The Maritime Educational Foundation (MEF) Trustees have agreed to increase their Cadet bursaries by 25% following the changes in SMarT funding.

This significant increase demonstrates the MEF’s commitment to Cadet training, providing essential support, particularly with the recent increase in the cost-of-living expenses.

The increase is effective immediately and will be back dated to 1st September 2022.

Congratulations to MEF Cadet Rory Foster on being awarded Warsash Maritime School Marine Engineer Officer Cadet of the Year Award.

A fantastic achievement and a great end to your cadetship and start of your career - well done!

A special mention goes out to our six cadets who were presented with Warsash's annual individual awards at the Graduation and Passing Out Ceremony, for their outstanding performance and contribution to their training. The winners pictured left to right are;
