Yorùbá Public Library ṣètò Láíbìrì ajẹmọ́dííjìtì láti fi ìmọ̀ ẹ̀rọ ṣe àwọn ohun àjogúnbá àti àṣà lọ́jọ́ kí àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí lè wá ní tọ́rọ́-fọ́n-kálé àti ní àrọ́wọ́tó fún lílò lásìkò-kásìkò pẹ̀lú ìrọ̀rùn jọjọ.

Yoruba Public Library established a digital library to use technology in preserving cultural heritage materials and traditions, ensuring that these resources are available online and easily accessible for use at any time with great convenience.

ỌDÚN AJÍLÁÀLÁ Ọ̀ṢỌ́/FESTIVAL
Ọdún Ajíláàlá Ọ̀ṣọ́ . jẹ́ èyí tí ó làmìlaka nínú àwọn ayẹyẹ ajẹmáṣà tí ó máa ń wáyé ní ọjọ́ kẹtà ọdún Iléyá ní ìlú Ẹdẹ, ó jẹ́ ayẹyẹ tí ó mú kí àwọn ọmọ ìlú péjú-pésẹ̀ láti ṣe àyẹ́sí Tìmì ìlú Ẹdẹ, èyí tí ó ń mú kí gbogbo èèyàn parapọ̀ láti fìmọ̀ṣọ̀kan

The Ede Ajilẹ́là Ọ̀só Festival is a colourful annual cultural celebration held in the town. It takes place on the third day after Eid al-Kabir (Iléyà) and serves as a homecoming event that honours and celebrates the Timi of Edeland, bringing indigenes together in unity and festivity.

Àádùn jẹ́ ìpàpánu Ìbílẹ̀ aládùn tí ó gbájúmọ́ ní ilẹ̀ Yorùbá. Àádùn túmọ̀ sí ohùn tí ó ládùn, ó wà lára èròjà tí ó wọ̀pọ̀ fún ìwúre ni ayẹyẹ bí ìgbéyàwó àti ìsọmọlórúkọ. Àwọn èròjà tí wọ́n fi ń ṣe àádùn ni àgbàdo yíyan lílọ̀, epo àti èròjà amọ́bẹ̀dùn

Àádùn is an indigenous street snack popular among the Yorùbás. The name àádùn means sweetness and it is also commonly used for prayers weddings and naming ceremonies. It is made from a combination of roasted corn flour, palm oil and spices.

IBÙDÓ OGUN OROKE EWO /OROKE EWO WAR CENTRE
Ibùdó Ogun Orókè Ewo wà nítòsí Ilúpéjú Èkìtì, wọ́n jábọ́ pé pé ibùdó náà jẹ́ ibùdó ogun olókìkí tí ó wáyé láàárín àwọn ológun láti Ìlọrin ti Alí ṣáájú ogun àti ìlú Egòsì ti Oloseru ṣáájú. Ìtàn sọ pé àwọn ọmọ ìlú Egòsì dán oògùn wo tí wọ́n sì sọ àga àti igbá oògùn Àlí di òkúta tí a mọ̀ sí òdìdì-mọdẹ̀. Wọ́n sọ ìlú bẹ̀m̀bẹ̀ rẹ̀ di òkúta -Ojongbede, tí wọ́n sì sọ ràkúnmí rẹ̀ di igi osè, gbogbo àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni wọ́n ṣe lọ́jọ́ ní ibùdó yìí.

Oroke Ewo centre is located in Ilupeju Èkìtì and it is reported to be a sure of a popular war between warriors from Ìlọrin led by Ali and Egosi kingdom led by Oloseru. It was reported that Egosi people displayed magical powers and turned warlord Ali and his chair and calabash of charms into stones known as òdìdì-mọdẹ̀. The bembe drum was also turned to stone -Ojongbede while Ali's horse was turned into an ose tree, all of which are preserved at the centre.

OJÚDE ỌBA
Ojúde Ọba jẹ́ ọdún gbòógì ní ilẹ̀ Yorùbá pàápàá jù lọ láàárín àwọn Ìjẹ̀bú ní Ìpínlẹ̀ Ògùn, ọdọọdún ní ọjọ́ kẹtà Iléya ló máa ń wáyé. Lára àwọn ètò tí ó sódo sínú ọdún náà ni ìmúra onírúurú ẹgbẹ́, wọ́n yóò ṣe ìdíje regberegbe, ijó ìbílẹ̀ àti ìjúbá sí Àwùjalẹ̀. Ayẹyẹ náà máa ṣàfihàn ìṣọ̀kan, àjogúnbá, àṣà àti ìṣe àwọn Ìjẹ̀bú, èyí sì ń máa ń fa ọkàn àwọn akópa àti àlejò káríayé. Oní ni ọdún ojúde Ọba ọdún yìí.

Ojúde Ọba is a significant festival in Yorùbá land particularly by the Ìjẹ̀bús in Ògùn State. It is held annually two days after Eid-El-Kabir. The festival features colorful parades by different age groups competing for the best dressing, horse-riding, traditional dances, and homage paid by over 100 age-grade groups to the Awujale. The event showcases the unity, heritage, and traditions of the Ijebu people, attracting participants and visitors from across globe. Today is this year's Ojude Ọba's festival edition.

Ọmọniyì, Ọmọnidẹ, Ọmọ-ní-àsẹ̀yìndè tó bá dalẹ̀. Àwọn Yorùbá ṣe àpèjúwe àwọn ọmọ gẹ́gẹ́ bíi àjogúnbá àwùjọ torí pé ipò àkànṣe ni àwọn ọmọ wà fún ìwàláàyè àti ìlọsíwájú àwùjọ. Nítorí náà àṣà ìpìlẹ̀ yín ń fọn rere ipa gbòógì àwọn ọmọ ọmọdé àti ìdí fún ìsọ-ni-dèniyàn àti ìfinimọlé àwùjọ tó péye láti lè máa hùwà ọmọlúàbí.

Òdòdó ẹyẹ wa kò ní rẹ̀ dànù

The Yorùbás describes children as the heritage of the society because children occupy a special place in societal survival and continuity. Children are esteemed and appreciated. Thus, the embedded culture propagates the essentiality of children, the need for proper socialisation and internalisation to make a responsible being (Ọmọlúàbí).

Irun ṣíṣe jẹ́ ohun àrà ọ̀tọ̀ lágbàáyé tí pàtàkì sì rẹ̀ sí gùnmọ́ sítáì, ìṣètọ̀jú àti ìdàgbàsókè àwùjọ ajẹmáṣà. Irun ṣíṣe jẹ́ ìdánimọ́ tí ó lọ́ọ̀rìn fún ẹwà, ìṣelọ́ọ̀ṣọ́.àti ipò àwùjọ láàárín àwọn Yorùbá. Ní àwùjọ Yorùbá, a ní àwọn òrìṣà tí wọ́n jẹ mọ́ iṣẹ́ kọ̀ọ̀kan. Ọ̀ṣun tí ó jẹ́ òrìṣà tí a somọ́ irun ṣíṣe ni òrìṣà omi, abiyamọ, ìfẹ́, àlàáfíà, ìlọsíwájú àti ẹwà. Gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìtàn ìwáṣẹ̀ Yorùbá, Ọ̀sun ni onídìrí àkọ́kọ́ nínú àwọn òrìṣà.

Hairdressing and hairstyles are global phenomena that achieve the purpose of styling, grooming, and socio-cultural development. Aesthetics, adornment, social status, and identification are strong features among the Yorubas. In Yorubaland, there is an òrìṣà associated with every profession. Ọ̀ṣun , the Yoruba òrìṣà , associated with hairdressing, is the goddess of fresh waters, fertility, love, peace, prosperity and beauty. According to Yoruba myths, Osun was the first deity/goddess to use a comb, and she was also the first hairdresser.

Àwọn ọmọ ìlú àti aráàlú Ìjẹ̀bú gbàgbọ́ pé ọdún náà máa ṣínà ìbùkún, ó ń tọwọ́ àlá àgàn bosùn, ìlọsíwájú ìlú, àti ìdábòòbò. Èẹwọ̀ ni fún àwọn obìnrin láti ní ìbáṣepọ̀ tààrà pẹ̀lú Agẹmọ. The Agẹmọ Festival stands as one of the most sacred and unifying celebrations in Ìjẹ̀bú land, a timeless tradition that binds sons and daughters of the soil across generations and continents. The Ìjẹ̀bú people believe the festival brings divine blessings, including fertility for barren women, communal prosperity, and ancestral protection. Women show deep reverence by observing taboos such as avoiding direct contact with the Agẹmọ.
The festival is alive with masquerade performances, ijó drumming, prayers, sacrifice, and vibrant cultural displays, all of which preserve the Yoruba spiritual ethos while also boosting local tourism and economy. The festival kicks off today.
