Royal British Legion Muswell Hill & Highgate Branch & Club

Royal British Legion Muswell Hill & Highgate Branch & Club We are a child-friendly, family-orientated club and membership is open to everyone.

The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading Armed Forces charity and one of its largest membership organisations. Members meet throughout the country (and overseas) in a network of branches and clubs, for social gatherings, and to participate in fundraising and activities. Your local branch and club is in Muswell Hill and we are always looking for new members to join. You do not have to have serv

ed in the Armed Forces to join, merely have an interest in our objectives and want to show support for those who have served and their families. Our Club is open six days a week – we have pool and snooker tables, two beer gardens, singing and entertainment acts, private parking and a function hall which is open for hire to members (for which we are able to provide private catering on request). You will also have the opportunity to get involved in regional and national events throughout the year. We also meet formally 4 times a year, at 11am on the first Sunday of the month to discuss Club business, member issues and any upcoming news and events. By joining the Legion you are ensuring two things:
• Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten.
• That the ex-Service community have a voice and that their concerns are brought to the public eye. It also gives you the opportunity to be part of a growing social club within the community. If you are interested in becoming a member why not come and visit and have a look around. Membership forms are available and we can answer any questions you might have. You can find us at: The Royal British Legion Club House, Muswell Hill Road, London, N10 3NG. ABOUT THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION:
We provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces - past and present and their families. The Legion is also the national Custodian of Remembrance and safeguards the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces and is best known for the annual Poppy Appeal and its emblem the red poppy. Founded in 1921, the Legion is not just about those who fought in the two World Wars of the last century, but also about those involved in the many conflicts since 1945 and those still fighting for the freedom we enjoy today.

Yesterday we were honoured to join the Mayor of Haringey Cllr Dawn Barnes, MPs, faith leaders, and local cadets to raise the Armed Forces Day flag at George Meehan House.

Thank you to all who serve, and to all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will remember them.

We will remember them ❤️

On this day 82 years ago, tens of thousands of courageous British and Allied soldiers, sailors and aircrew took part in the D-Day landings, the largest seaborne invasion in history.

Today we remember the service and sacrifice of all those involved, commencing the liberation of France and Western Europe and turning the tide in the Second World War. Together with personnel from the United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark and Poland, British forces showed immense courage, and endured great sacrifice.

We will remember them.
