81% of people with learning disabilities said they were able to try out new things in L’Arche this year - and they did A LOT 🎉

From discos and barbeques to afternoon teas and community events, it's been a year full of new experiences and shared moments.

"We are the voices of L'Arche across the world." - Siân Walker

Members of the Great Voices Group recently gathered in Taizé, France, alongside leaders from across L'Arche Internationale. Together, they shared ideas, built friendships, and helped shape important decisions about L'Arche's future.

We're proud that Siân represented L'Arche UK, sharing her experiences and advocating for people with learning disabilities to be at the heart of decision-making.

Sharing everyday life together, learning how to give and receive kindness, and taking part in community activities are all part of the internship experience.

Bonjour la France! 🥐

At the start of June, a group from L’Arche Liverpool, Manchester and Preston travelled to L'Arche en France, as part of a shared research project to learn from one another’s ways of living and working.

But for Emms and Katharine from L'Arche Preston, it quickly became something more: new friendships, new experiences, and a glimpse of what life in another L’Arche Community could be.

They shared, "What impressed us most were the workshops in L'Arche. We saw some people with learning disabilities making ceramics and mugs, while others were packing things like mops into boxes. They were even packaging handbags for SAINT LAURENT. The workshops reflected people’s natural gifts and abilities."
