Heat waves have become a global crisis.
Some cities have already reached 50°C, while many more are approaching dangerously high temperatures.
Extreme heat contributes to nearly half a million deaths each year. It can make schools, transport systems, homes, and public spaces unsafe during the hottest hours of the day.
Prolonged heat waves also lead to water scarcity, devastating wildfires, worsening air quality, crop failures, and biodiversity loss.
One of the most effective long-term solutions is the plantation and protection of trees. Trees help cool cities, improve air quality, reduce heat absorption, support biodiversity, and create healthier environments for communities.
Through our Dharma Forest initiative, we have already planted 370,000+ trees in the Sundarnans, with the goal of 2 million trees by 2027.
Because, the climate crisis is no longer a distant threat. It is already impacting millions of lives around the world.
