An international non-profit organization, using the unifying power of sport to celebrate diversity, promote equality, cross-cultural collaboration and youth development. This is the story of 11, eleven-year-old children from 11 different countries as they prepare for the game of their lives…
“Eleven” is a documentary that spearheads a campaign that aims to unite children across the world by high
lighting different cultures and celebrating diversity, whilst looking at how similar is the children’s approach to life. “Eleven” is a non-profit project that works side by side with charities in all 11 countries, with all profits from the campaign going straight to them. Using football as common ground, “Eleven” aims to explore the similarities and differences between children from 11 different countries at the transitional age of eleven. Despite their initial differences, how similar is their approach to life and its everyday challenges? If we all start as a blank canvas, how much of the surface has been left intact at the age of eleven? It has united the world – all ages, races, and genders watch it, enraptured by its stars and their abilities, but more significantly, by the way in which 11 players come together, and win together as a team. Football is a universal language. Could it be because playing football brings out the child in us? We will ask the eleven children: how does football affect their lives? What do they hope to achieve through their favourite sport?
“Eleven” will attempt to provide answers to these questions, while raising awareness and celebrating diversity at a time when the world is still rife with racism and discrimination. Eleven Campaign has four aims:
- Bring together children, filmmakers and an audience from across the world
- Build awareness of global cultures and their psychologies
- Fight discrimination
- Raise money for children in need around the world
Supporting “Eleven” means that you support equality, togetherness, as well as standing united against fear.
