Applications for 2027/28 Saïd Foundation scholarships will open in one month on 1st September.

Saïd Foundation scholarships are fully-funded scholarships for one-year master’s degree studies at our UK partner universities, aimed at outstanding individuals from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine.

Did you know it has been 40 years since the Saïd Foundation’s establishment in the UK?

The Karim Rida Saïd Foundation, founded by Mr Wafic Rida Saïd and Mrs Rosemary Saïd in memory of their son, was registered in the UK as a charity in 1986, and renamed as the Saïd Foundation in 2008.

To mark the occasion, the Foundation has commissioned a short film showcasing its activities and achievements, including contributions from around 20 people involved in its work over the past 40 years.

Since its establishment, the Foundation has funded scholarships for well over a thousand students from Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan in the UK and the Middle East. It has also provided more than 860 MBA and DPhil Scholarships at Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford for students from around the world.

The Saïd Foundation is delighted to announce that Lebanese alumnus Dr David Menassa has been awarded the Foundation’s 2026 Alumni Achievement Prize. The prize recognises an individual who has made a meaningful impact within their field and a significant contribution to the development of the Levant region.

Dr Menassa is a neuroscientist whose research focuses on understanding how the brain is affected in developmental conditions such as autism, ADHD, schizophrenia, and intellectual disability, as well as in diseases of ageing such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
