Last week, at the Lewisham Migration Forum, we brought together partner organisations, the local authority and people seeking sanctuary to discuss building a stronger sanctuary community and supporting communities during immigration raids.

We were joined by Cllr Tam Hau-Yu, Cllr Wellington Gil, Lewisham Anti-Raids Network, Lewisham Council’s Borough of Sanctuary team, Citizens UK and many other brilliant organisations.
We discussed migrants’ rights, community safety during immigration raids, and how communities, people with lived experience, the Council and VCS organisations can work together more effectively.

Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed. Together, we can build safer, stronger and more inclusive communities.

It was so lovely to see everyone come together at our Community Forum on 1 September!

We had some great conversations and were joined by guest speakers from Loved and Wanted, Better Gym, and The Bike Project, who shared helpful information, support and opportunities with our community. 🌱🚲💪
