💙 Every animal deserves love, not cruelty.

Florence was another unowned cat who had clearly spent a long time surviving on the streets.

When she arrived in our care, she had a damaged, sunken eye and a broken canine tooth, both thought to be the result of an old injury or years spent trying to survive without anyone to care for her.

Sadly, this is the reality for many feral cats. Life outdoors can be harsh, especially when growing populations compete for limited food and territory.

Every cat deserves the chance to live free from unnecessary suffering. That's why our Trap, Neuter and Return work is so important in preventing more cats from being born into lives of hardship.

🐾 DOG COMMUNITY EVENT DAY! 🐾

We’ll be joining the Croydon Council Dog Warden at Dog Community Event Day this Saturday!

Our Animal Welfare Officer will be there offering general information and advice on animal welfare, microchipping and our help with vet bills scheme 😊

Meet Coco! 🐾

Coco is a gorgeous 1 year old girl and is actually the sister of Basil, who we introduced you to in one of our recent posts!

Sadly, Coco’s elderly owner is no longer able to care for her, so she has come into our care and is now settling into life with one of our lovely fosterers.

Understandably, Coco has been feeling quite worried. She has gone from the only home and owner she has ever known to a completely new environment, so it is going to take her a little time to realise that she is safe and loved.

Our fosterer has been patiently helping her come out of her shell, and we are already seeing some lovely progress. Coco is now coming out for strokes and food, which might sound like a small thing, but for a nervous cat like Coco, it is a really positive step! 💙

We will be sharing more updates as this beautiful girl settles in, so stay tuned to see how Coco gets on!

We're looking for a very special home for Basil. ❤️‍🩹 He came to us after his elderly owner could no longer care for him, but at only 2 years old, Basil has his whole life ahead of him!

Basil is slowly starting to trust and learning how to be around his foster carer, but he is still very nervous and prefers the safety of hiding away. 🫣

We're looking for a very patient, adult-only home for Basil who will give him the time and space to get to know them on his own terms. 🐾

He's such a kind, loving boy, and we'd love to find him the family who will help him show his true personality. 🏡

Some of you might remember our handsome Onyx, who came into our care needing a little extra time and patience. So we are absolutely delighted to say that Onyx has officially been adopted by his fosterer! 🥹

We couldn't be happier for this lovely boy. He is so very loved, and we know he couldn't have asked for a better forever home!

But, as happy as we are, it's a little bittersweet for us too. When a fosterer adopts, we gain a happy ending for one cat, but we also lose one of the wonderful people who makes it possible for us to help the next cat in need.

Our fosterers are such an important part of what we do. They give cats a safe place to recover, learn to trust and simply be themselves while they wait for their forever home.

💙 Love means understanding what every animal needs.

Snowy came into our care after being rescued by RSPCA Inspectors.

Although he was physically healthy, there was something missing from his life. Snowy was living alone.

Rabbits are highly social animals and, in almost all cases, should live with another compatible rabbit. Without companionship, they can become lonely, bored and experience poor welfare. While there are rare exceptions where a rabbit is happier on their own, these cases are uncommon and should always be guided by expert advice.

Every animal deserves a life that allows them to express their natural behaviours, and for rabbits that usually means living with another rabbit friend. ❤️

This summer, as reports of animal cruelty reach their highest level in five years, it's also important to remember that good welfare is about more than rescuing animals. It's about giving them everything they need to thrive once they're safe.
