Women for Women International supports women in war-torn regions. We bring women together in a safe space to learn life, business, and vocational skills.

Since 1993, Women for Women International has helped over 500,000 marginalised women in countries affected by war and conflict. We directly work with women in 8 countries, offering support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency. Once enrolled, each woman receives a monthly stipend – a vital support that enables her to p

articipate. Women increase their ability to earn an income with new skills that are in demand. They learn about their legal rights, and they become knowledgeable about health and nutrition. The result: stronger women, stronger families, and stronger communities. The ripple effect is profound.

Women in Translation Month began in 2014 as an initiative by Meytal Radzinski to celebrate women writers and translators and bring more translated literature by women to readers around the world.

This Women in Translation Month, we’re reading stories that cross languages, borders and generations.

Because translation does more than bring words into another language. It lets us see the world through someone else’s eyes, understand realities different from our own, and hear voices we might otherwise miss.

The recent graduation of our very first Stronger Women, Stronger Nations cohort in Palestine marks a significant milestone. For 300 women, it was a moment to celebrate their resilience, perseverance and hope in the face of extraordinary challenges.

When we began working in Palestine in 2022, our aim was to support women as they rebuilt their lives through connection, practical skills and economic opportunity. As the conflict escalated, our work evolved to meet urgent humanitarian needs – but our commitment to women never wavered.

Today, alongside our dedicated team in the West Bank and trusted local partners in Gaza, we continue to stand with women as they navigate crisis while building towards a more secure future. To our first graduates: congratulations. Your courage, determination and strength inspire us all.

Faida's journey has never been easy. Living with a disability meant facing barriers every day, and when the Ebola outbreak hit, those challenges became even greater.

But she didn't have to face them alone.

With the support of our Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme, Faida gained practical skills, vital health information, and a community that stood beside her through uncertainty. Together, women can find strength, rebuild their livelihoods, and keep moving forward.

Many women in places affected by conflict never get a chance to complete formal education. When they join our one-year programme they get to learn, gain new skills, make new friends and celebrate with a graduation ceremony.

When women join our programmes they learn about their rights and how to protect them. They use this knowledge to stand up for themselves, their peers and their daughters. Knowledge can be transformative.

Through our programmes women gain the skills to become financially independent. They open their own businesses, earn incomes for the first time and save money.

We all want to see more women in leadership roles! Our programmes help women gain confidence and knowledge to make it happen.

When women rebuild their lives they improve not only their own futures but also those of their families.
