T-minus 5 days!

Excitement and nerves both kicking in, have I done enough training, have I trained properly, is my fuelling on point? Mostly have to keep reminding myself that the hard part is done - getting out and running consistently when it’s wet, windy and dark is the hard part, all leading up to being able to enjoy the day.

Being unwell right now is not ideal either so praying this clears up very quickly also but feeling a lot better than I did on Sunday so definitely improving.

Less than 2 weeks to go!

Tonight I was able to get on a call and find out exactly where the money goes, learning about the research that Sarcoma UK has been funding. This example was just one which is focussed on being able to produce a drug which may be able to destroy proteins found within a sub-type of Sarcoma known as Clear Cell Sarcoma. This should allow the drug to prevent the cells from growing, forming and destroying a person in the process. The hope is not only to be able to do this, but to utilise similar methods to be able to treat other Sarcoma’s, cancers and maybe other diseases.

This open, collaborative global research has potential to blueprint further research - with full open access publishing it will be possible for other research groups to have their say and contribute to the genuinely possible reality of success in this area.

It’s getting very real, with only 2 weeks to go, the last of the long runs have been completed so some maintenance during my taper leading up to the big day!

Todays 30km🏃‍♂️

One month to go and things are getting tough, not quite as fast as I hope for the day, but that’s why we train.

Almost 900ft elevation gain ain’t the one either, should move to a flatter country.

Not long to go now and the fundraising support has been sensational, if anyone can still spare a few quid it would be massively appreciated.

Now that I have had time to collate all the donations and money raised throughout the race night, including tickets, raffle entries and bets placed, as well as sponsorships and generous donations I would like to make some massive thank yous.
