Our Story

The London office of the German Academic Exchange Service was first established in 1927 and reopened after the war in 1952, being the oldest of the 17 branches of the organisation outside of Germany. The DAAD team in London acts as the first point of contact for inquiries regarding DAAD programmes for students and researchers based in the United Kingdom and Ireland, providing information about German universities, application to DAAD programmes and further funding opportunities.

The DAAD head office is based in Bonn, Germany. Along with a number of DAAD information centres worldwide, there are branch offices in Amman, Berlin, Bogotá, Brussels, Beijing, Cairo, Hanoi, Jakarta, London, Mexico City, Moscow, Nairobi, New Delhi, New York, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Tunis and Warsaw.
