ecoACTIVE

ecoACTIVE ecoACTIVE is an Environmental Education Charity, based in North East London. We're an innovative environmental education charity.

We're well known for using hands-on, practical and fun ways to explore complex issues of sustainability. We create eye-opening experiences for children and adults alike, working with schools and the wider community. Our goal is to develop people's understanding of the world around them and share the skills they need to make things better. We started our work as ecoACTIVE in 1999, with the goal of

helping children, adults and youth groups to think creatively about the planet and their impact on it. We hope that, through our connections with the communities of Hackney and North-East London, we can help develop positive responses to issues such as climate change, fuel poverty, biodiversity and food production.

🌿 Celebrating International Volunteers Day! 🌍✨

Volunteering is more than just lending a hand—it’s about creating connections, fostering community spirit, and making a lasting difference. At Re-Gen, we believe in the incredible impact of coming together to support meaningful causes, and we’re honoured to play our part.

Our work with Carol’s Memorial Garden is a testament to what volunteering can achieve. Together with ecoACTIVE, we’re transforming the Kingsmead Estate into a haven for biodiversity and a space for reflection, all while honouring the legacy of Carol and her friends, the "Golden Girls."

This project is just one example of how volunteers can shape stronger, greener, and more compassionate communities. 💚

Join our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ecoACTIVE on Tuesday, November 26 at 6pm. We will reflect on an inspiring year of growth, community action and a Hackney Buzzline Progress Report.

Interested in Getting Involved with Hackney Buzzline?

During the AGM, we’ll be discussing ways for Hackney residents to play an active role in this project, whether it’s through pollinator-friendly planting in your garden or volunteering with our team. Your involvement will be invaluable in expanding our reach and impact in the community.

Join us for the ecoACTIVE AGM. This year we will be sharing updates on how the first year of The Hackney Buzzline project has gone.

Now’s the time to get involved! 🐝
Would you like to help make the pollinator-friendly memorial corner in the All Mead gardens on the Kingsmead Estate? 💚

We’re there every Thursday from 10.30-12.30pm.

We’d love you to join us for a day of de-turfing and seeding this Thursday 19 September and next Thursday 26th September. No skills are required.

It can sometimes be difficult to give much advance notice of volunteering dates we have available, as we work with several partners.

Sign up for updates via our website and we’ll email you new opportunities as they arise when we have confirmed dates 🐝
