Last night, we attended the event "BH Professionals Networking and Connections in the UK" at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in London. As in previous years, it was a pleasure to meet and connect with successful professionals from London and across the UK. https://www.bhfuturesfoundation.org/
The Embassy was filled with intellectual energy, experience, and inspiration, while the event was further enriched by a remarkable exhibition of works by Bosnian-Herzegovinian artists.
The gathering was officially opened by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Kingdom, H.E. Osman Topčagić, and Željko Kiauta, who presented the new sports software application SportiW https://sportiw.com/en The app is simple, practical, and designed to support athletes and sports managers from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Representing Futures Foundation, Martina Egedušević, a Board Member and Research Associate on the SENSUM Project, introduced the Foundation's organisational structure and explained how individuals can become involved in its activities.
Lilijan Sulejmanović, a management and business strategy consultant, co-founder of Osvit.co, and graduate of Oxford and Harvard, shared valuable insights. She emphasised that openness to independent thinking, exploring one's potential, and embracing change can lead to entirely new directions in business and professional development. She also highlighted the importance of maintaining a sense of belonging and preserving connections with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Professor Neven Anđelić delivered an emotional address, stating:
"Tonight, 130 million people around the world will not sleep in their own homes. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to return, but they can stay connected. Progress in Bosnia and Herzegovina is visible and undeniable. It could have been greater, but the next generation can deliver that additional step forward. We all have multiple identities, and the more identities we embrace, the richer we become. Wealthy individuals build a prosperous country and nation." 🇧🇦
Our well-known meteorologist and doctoral researcher Nedim Sladić spoke about the importance of dedication and perseverance:
"When a person has a genuine passion for something, they will succeed. I am grateful to my sponsors and the Chevening Programme, which allowed me to be among the few able to conduct research in meteorology and contribute to our country and society." https://www.chevening.org/scholarships/
Semir Kahrimanović, founder of Bozmaps and a professional at Meta, introduced "Komšiluk", a new community networking platform currently in development that aims to connect individuals, organisations, and businesses.
"Everything you need to know – who does what, where, and who can help – will be available on Komšiluk." https://www.komsiluk.co.uk/
The Embassy walls were adorned with an outstanding exhibition featuring works by Sonja Rudan, Davorka Anđelić, Aleksandra Nina Knežević, and Aida Bartović. Their inspiring creations, rooted in themes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, are well worth seeing, and we encourage everyone to visit the exhibition. The programme was moderated by Samra Koričić Mujkić.
To conclude the evening, Ambassador H.E. Osman Topčagić delivered an important message to citizens:
