Wellbeing is so important, especially in summer when the weather is different and routines are changing. Here are some easy ways to look after your wellbeing throughout the summer.
🛌Get enough sleep. It can be harder to sleep when the weather changes, but trying to get enough sleep each night is important for wellbeing.
🌊Hydration. Hydration is key! Make sure to keep a bottle of water close, or snack on food like cucumber or watermelon.
🔖Do things that bring you joy. From reading, to crafting, to trying out a new recipe doing something that brings you joy is so important for emotional wellbeing.
🤝Reach out if you need to. Friends and family are a great source of support, so do reach out if need to.
⏰Stick to a routine where you can. Keeping a routine, where possible is great for motivating yourself.

We're excited to launch the State of Child Health 2026!
The Emotional Health and Wellbeing Indicator is the first measure to be designed and chosen by children and young people across the UK.
Through roadshows, activities and projects, young people shared what matters most to them when it comes to health and wellbeing. Almost 3,500 children and young people had their say, and their votes helped shape this important indicator.
The indicator sets out what good emotional health and wellbeing support should look like and how we can measure whether children and young people are getting the support they need.

It’s the third day of and today we are looking at the numbers!

Between June 2025 and June 2026, 98 volunteers took part in our regular projects, contributing 1,850 hours over 180 sessions! In addition to this, 1,500 more children and young people shared their views in other ways such as clinic chats, roadshows and freshers fayres. From Dundee to Derry, Bangor to Bradford every moment of volunteering and every opinion shared has contributed to the bigger picture and helped drive change. The second slide shows our star child logo made up of volunteer’s household items to try and capture this ethos.

We’re proud to be taking part in Volunteers’ Week 2026! This short clip was shared at our first Youth Health Conference in Birmingham last month as part of , and features three of our volunteers talking about the work that they are involved with RCPCH &Us. Our first ever Youth Health Conference was a landmark event in RCPCH history attended by 30 of our regular volunteers, and over 100 young people and workers from youth health groups to get involved with discussions on a range of topics, from transition to mental health. The day would not be possible without volunteers, so a huge thank you to those involved from the whole &Us team.
