Congratulations to this yearโ€™s Georgian Distance Learning Programme students on completing the Theoretical Component of the course!

This milestone marks the transition from theory to practice, as students begin applying their learning in real care settings and discovering how music can shape moments of connection and expression.

We are proud of the commitment, thoughtfulness and care shown throughout the programme so far, and we wish all students the very best as they begin their Practical Assignments!

From building our income streams from the ground up to helping us reach over 25,500 people last year, Richard's contribution to Music as Therapy International has been immeasurable.

Lucy's final IMM observation visit of the year, visiting Rebecca at Jack Tizard School! Rebecca led a lovely session with 3 children, developing the children's awareness of each other through turn taking with instruments and parachute play.

We hope youโ€™ve enjoyed our Weekly Interactive Music Making updates. More IMM news is on the way, and weโ€™ll soon be opening applications for another year, so stay tuned.

During Dementia Action Week, we took the opportunity to recognise some of the amazing organisations that are helping to strengthen dementia care through music.

Over the course of the week, we highlighted care providers that have enrolled multiple caregivers onto Music Helps, celebrating their commitment to staff learning and to improving everyday care experiences.

Although Friends of Music Helps began during Dementia Action Week, this is only the beginning. In the months and years ahead, we will continue welcoming new Friends, growing this community of organisations that are investing in compassionate, relationship-focussed care.

Over the years, we have seen how much more impactful training can be when it happens as part of a wider team effort. When managers and colleagues support one another, caregivers are 150% more likely to complete the course and gain those incredible skills. By championing the efforts of these settings...

One year after delivering a Tailored Training at Bombolulu School of Promise in Mombasa, Kenya, music therapist Sarah Young and assistant Katy Rimington are returning today to Mombasa for a follow-up support visit.

Following encouraging reports that staff have continued using music to support learning, communication and emotional wellbeing for children with additional needs, this visit will focus on reflection, encouragement and continued support.

This support visit is an important part of our approach to building sustainable, long-term use of music for our Partners. We are looking forward to reconnecting with the staff and children at Bombolulu School of Promise, and seeing how music continues to grow within the school community.
