To the person who dumped pallets outside the Society's front gate, please could you collect them or it will cost us money to dispose of them.
If you have anything like pots, trays, or anything strange you think we may want, please DO NOT assume that we will take them and dump them on the front of the trading hut, please please ask us first.
Lately people have randomly DUMPED/FLY TIPPED various pallets, a cool box, plastic pots, plastic trays, and other random items on our front (even though there are clear signs saying we don't need anymore pots) and all it does is cost us money to dispose of them. We recently filled ⅓ of a 6 yard skip with plastic pots and trays and we still have plenty.
As a rule we no longer accept plastic plant pots and plastic planting trays.
We do currently take the following:
>Jam jars cleaned, minus lids.
>Clear wine bottles, screwtop, cleaned with lids.
>Stone, ceramic, terracotta plant pots and trays whether for indoor or outdoor plants.
>Large decorative molded plastic plant pots
>Unwanted plants in good condition
However, we prefer that you bring them during opening hours rather than leaving them on the front (unless previous arrangement with us to do so has been given).
We are very grateful for any donations, however if you're not sure please ask us first.
Thankyou and apologies for needing to write this.
