100 Years Strong and Growing! 💯

History was made this past Tuesday, March 3rd! At a stunning induction ceremony at Ealing Golf Club, Rotary Club Wembley welcomed five new members into the fold—a record-breaking moment for our Centenary year!

We were deeply honored to have PDG Helen Antoniou (RI Dist 1130) and DGN Ian Balcombe (2027-2028) officially induct our newest Rotarians. It was a truly momentous evening, made even more special by the presence of the inductees' proud families and friends, alongside our fellow Rotarians from RC Northwick Park and RC London.

Our club’s diversity is our greatest strength, and these five new members—hailing from amazing backgrounds and diverse cultures—embody the true spirit of Rotary.
Here’s to the next 100 years of Serving Brent and Beyond! 🌍

Rotary Club of Wembley Marks Remembrance Day at Barham Park

On Sunday 9th November, President Shantha Kumar and members of the Rotary Club of Wembley joined the community in honouring Remembrance Day at Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Barham Park.

The day began with a moving Morning Service at St John the Evangelist Church, Wembley. In the afternoon memorial ceremony, President Shantha laid a wreath on behalf of the club to pay tribute to the fallen.

Wembley Rotary is proud to continue its 30+ year tradition of sponsoring the Inter-School Remembrance Essay Competition. This year’s winning students delivered their essays at the memorial service, which brought together local residents, school pupils, the Armed Forces, the Mayor of Brent, councillors, and MPs.

Thank you to everyone who joined in remembering and reflecting.

🌍 Rotary Club of Wembley Welcomes Rtn Ketan Joshi & Family from Rotary Club of Rajkot 🇮🇳🤝🇬🇧

On Tuesday, 5th August, during our regular club meeting at The Torch Function Room, Wembley Park, we were honoured to host Rtn Ketan Joshi, Past President of Rotary Club of Rajkot (Gujarat, India), District Annual Giving Chair, and Assistant District Learning Facilitator for the current Rotary year. He was accompanied by his wife Rtn Khyati Joshi and their son Dhyey Joshi.

Rtn Ketan shared inspiring insights into his club’s impactful initiatives, including the remarkable Skin Bank Project, where donated human skin is preserved to treat burn victims, chronic wounds, and aid in reconstructive surgery. 🔬🩹

We were impressed to learn that District 3060 was among the top global contributors to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) last year, donating US $1.9 million. 👏💰

A highlight of the evening was the mutual agreement for the Rotary Clubs of Wembley and Rajkot to become Sister Clubs and International Partners, paving the way for future joint projects and global fellowship.

To mark the occasion, President Rtn Shanthakumar presented the Rotary Club of Wembley flag to Rtn Ketan Joshi as a gesture of friendship and collaboration. 🏳️🤝🌍

Here’s to building strong Rotary bonds across borders and continuing our shared mission of Service Above Self. 💙💛
