With our support AMCO has built a clear, structured roadmap to reduce its environmental impact and turn ambition into action. AMCO now operates on 100% renewable electricity, significantly reducing their Scope 2 CO₂ emissions.

AMCO has implemented a number of practical, high-impact initiatives including the rollout of energy-efficient LED lighting and controls, optimisation of equipment usage, and smarter monitoring of energy consumption to drive continuous improvement.

In developing and delivering its carbon reduction strategy, including the transition to alternative fuels such as HVO, fleet optimisation, together, this partnership continues to drive AMCO forward with pace and purpose, delivering real, measurable carbon savings while building a credible pathway to Net Zero.

🔋 One kilometer of solar rails can power around 50 homes per year.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities - The eleventh SDG focuses on creating inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable communities. It’s about ensuring everyone, no matter where they live, can access opportunities, feel supported and thrive within a strong and connected community.

At Oakland International, we recognise the important role our business plays in supporting the communities around us and why our charity, Oakland Foundation, is dedicated to helping disadvantage children across England and Wales.

One powerful example of this impact is support for schools using the Be You Training Programme. Oakland Foundation provide schools funding for students who may otherwise be unable to access this programme, ensuring that more young people can benefit from the opportunities it provides.

Encouraging team building, leadership, communication and personal growth through outdoor learning, on-site activities and confidence-building challenges, schools are able to support young people develop these essential skills, with the programme strengthening resilience.

SDG 11 reminds us that sustainable communities are built through long term investment in people, and we are proud that the Oakland Foundation continues to play a meaningful role in that mission.

🎄 Supporting Acorns Children's Hospice This Christmas 🎁

We're proud to share our continued support and commitment to local communities by supporting the children and families cared for by Acorn’s Children’s Hospice.

Through a company-wide toy collection, AMCO came together to contribute a variety of toys that will help bring comfort and joy during the festive period.

We delivered a fantastic range of gifts to a local Acorn’s branch where our Head of Operations, Ruth Williamson, joined Acorn's Pershore Shop Manager, Craig Powell, to hand them over.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who supported this initiative.

SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation - The sixth SDG is about ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
Clean water is essential for our health, wellbeing, ecosystems and communities. Protecting it means thinking carefully about how we use, treat and return water to the environment.
At Oakland International, we’re doing this through our natural reed bed sewage treatment system. So, instead of relying on energy-intensive or chemical-based processes, our reed beds use natural filtration to safely and effectively treat wastewater before it returns to the environment.
By doing this we minimise our ecological impact, reduce energy usage and support biodiversity.
