Our Story
The VOCES8 Centre is an international centre of excellence for vocal music performance, outreach and education in the heart of London. Our home is in the beautiful Wren Church of St Anne and St Agnes, set back from road at the St Martins-le-Grand end of Gresham Street. Excellence: Aspiring to excellence in all our areas of activity. The VOCES8 Centre is a venue for vocal music performance, education and inspiration that encourages all who visit to develop their passion and to be the best they can be. Education: Engaging students of all ages to explore, develop and learn through music. We encourage people to develop academically through music, to grow as musicians, and to learn about leadership, self confidence and teamwork. Outreach: Using vocal music to share, to build friendship and to strengthen our community. We invite performers from all over the world to visit the VOCES8 Centre to share stories and meet new people through making music together. Inspiration: With performances and education by world class musicians and ensembles, the VOCES8 Centre embraces all forms of music, showcases world class performers and motivates people through shared inspiration. The VOCES8 Centre’s ambassadors are the world class vocal ensemble, VOCES8 and rising stars on the international a ca****la scene, Apollo5. These 13 people spend their life either raising money for the charity through professional concerts or giving time and effort through their very successful VOCES8 ‘Method’. This is particularly aimed at schools where there is a wide diversity of cultural backgrounds and an identified need for more creative opportunities. These groups work with over 40,000 students from the UK and all over the world since every year.
