ACT for Children (ACT) is a registered charity set up for the promotion and awareness of the implications and impact of Care Proceedings on Black, Asian & Other Minority Ethnic (BAME) children and their families in the United Kingdom. ACT's aim is to promote the best interests of the child in all our activities and ensure that BAME Families are empower and enlighten about the child protection proc
ess in the UK and to highlight the impact of Care proceedings on the family. We provide a panel of professional experts from different backgrounds with different language skills and are suitably qualified with relevant exposure to the formal care proceedings system in the UK. We run seminars around the United Kingdom on various topics affecting the BAME Family. The purpose is to enlighten the African Family about the Child Protection process, work done by social services with the family and any other issues of concern to the family and a child's welfare. These seminars are run by both social workers and or a child protection lawyer. We provide legal advice services to affected BAME families involved in the Child Protection Process in the UK. We also provide legal advice and support to families outside of the UK where their families have become involved with social services due to child protection concerns in the UK. We also provide advocacy and assessment services.
