At our meeting last week, Noreen Meehan from Our Roehampton gave us insight into what fab work is going on in Roehampton, and the community spirit that is alive and well in the borough. It's a fantastic network, bringing people together - BY the people and FOR the people of .

They are looking for funding for their new Community Park, so if you have green fingers, have bulbs/seeds/plants you'd like to donate, and equipment or would like to lend a hand, please do get in touch with Noreen.

We’ll be covering the roads bounded by Upper Richmond, Hazlewell, Gwendolen and Luttrell… and all the side streets in between.

A big shout out to Noreen Meehan, Director at Our Roehampton and her team for creating the new Volunteering Fair outside Putney Library. The event is designed to bring together volunteers and organisations in the area.

Putney Rotarians Colin, Nigel, Marianna, Jane, George, Will and Leonie attended, chatting to potential volunteers. If you're interested in finding out more, join us as a guest at the Prince of Wales Pub, SW15 2SP - Monday night 7-8pm and dinner afterwards.

Putney Rotary support many initiatives in Roehampton "Our Roehampton works to make Roehampton an active, connected, thriving community and a good place to live and work." and they're doing a great job.

At the AGM on Friday 12th Sept 2025, attended by Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr Jeremy Ambache, Putney Rotarian Tony Chase, presented Sea Cadets from Wandsworth, Fulham and Chelsea - Elvis Doubleday (2024) and Tom Fyers (2025)the "Putney Rotary's Service Above Self" shield - an award to the Sea Cadet who has shown extraordinary service in his/her community in that year. Congratulations!

Seven Rotarians attended: Dorothea, Tony, project lead Lu, President Leonie, Les, Colin and Bill.

Repesenting Wandsworth Youth Services, Roehampton Cluster Co-ordinator: Marsha Forde, also attended and is key to a great relationship between Wandsworth Council youth services in our borough - lovely to meet her.

We have also celebrated the finalisation of our Rotary in London District 1130 Grant (2023-2024) where we donated meteorological equipment, a new classroom shed and tools for their work.

We are so impressed with the dedication of the team at https://www.sea-cadets.org/wandsworth-scc-278 for their incredible work with youngsters. Thanks for fabulous service by the trustees, Daniel, Liv, Emma, Philip and George.

We are proud to support your excellent work in the community and hope that many more kids will become Sea Cadets and now you have the new Royal Marines Cadets, we hope Royal Marines will fully support this wonderful initiative. We also met Vivienne Knowland from The Vintner's Company livery who also support the sea cadets.

For our Putney Rotary Centenary celebration, we hosted a 1920's dinner dance at La Gothique Restaurant in Wandsworth, raising funds for Royal Trinity Hospice and Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. We were delighted to have a tour of the Trinity Hospice premises in Clapham and hand over a donation of £2,700 to assist with the wonderful care they provide to those who cannot afford it.

Putney Rotary is excited to have donated 10 helmets to Marsha Joseph, Southmead PE lead who had taken the helmets. The helmets help to support children who have been taught to cycle and cycle to school or participate in the cycle club.
