Primrose Hill Community Centre (PHCA) has existed for around 35 years and is based in the Community Centre in Hopkinson’s Place.

We run events, activities, classes and workshops, with the community centre being fully utilised during the week and weekend

Open House – The Choral - 27 May at 2pm
With war raging on the Western Front, the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire, has lost most of its members to the army. The Choral’s ambitious committee recruit a new chorus master, and a disparate group of townspeople, for an Elgar performance. Written by Alan Bennett with Ralph Fiennes and Amara Okereke.

Join us for the Primrose Hill Summer Garden Party 2026 in Chalcot Square! Enjoy an afternoon of live music, free sandwiches and cakes. Children’s arts and crafts plus a magic show. Pimms and bar and other fun and games.

Open House — London Zoo at Primrose Hill Community Centre — 20 May at 2pm
Emma Whitbread, Community Engagement Manager, at London Zoo visits the Centre to talk about the Zoo. A chance to learn more about their work and ways to connect through PHCA’s Community Membership.

Open House — Petanque — 13 May at 2pm
We will walk from the Centre to the pitch in Primrose Hill park for a few games of Petanque in the open air. Meet at the Centre or at the pitch in the park.

Join us on 15 May for a fun evening with a mixture of taxing questions and silly ones.
Recruit a table of up to eight neighbours, or just come yourself and join in with a team.

Open House – Collections Corner – The British Library - 6 May at 2pm

A specially curated event on Children’s Treasures Past and Present that looks at children’s literature through illustrations and storytelling. It will be a chance to connect with childhood memories and reflect on progress in inclusivity. Limited numbers and transport available.

Open House is a free weekly event, a talk, film or performance, always followed by tea, cake and chat.

Open House – One Battle After Another - 29 April at 2pm

A group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own in the film that won the Oscar for Best Picture in 2026. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson with Leonardo Di Caprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro and Teyana Taylor.

Open House – Primrose Hill Postcards - 22 April at 2pm

Hear from Martin Sheppard and Willemijn Bol about Primrose Hill history through postcards from the 1890’s through to 1914. Together they talk about what postcards from before the age of the car can tell us and how Willemijn ‘s collection was acquired.

Open House – The Government Inspector - 15 April at 2pm

Enjoy a rare opportunity to watch The Southwark Playhouse Company of Elders perform live scenes from The Government Inspector by Nikolai Gogol. The mayor and officials of a small town attempt to cover their tracks for the visit of a government inspector in Gogol’s satirical play.
