At the beginning of term, Suzuki teachers and trainees from across the UK came together for the BSMA Teachers’ Conference 2026

It was an opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues, share ideas, learn from one another and feel inspired for the year ahead. 💙

✨ BRITISH SUZUKI GALA 2027 — REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! ✨

We’re delighted to announce that registration is now open for the British Suzuki Gala on Sunday 28 March 2027 and Playtogether on Saturday 27 March 2027, both taking place in Birmingham! 🎻🎶

📣 Please note the registration deadlines:

🎹 Pianists: registration closes at 5pm on Friday 9 October
🎻 All other instruments: registration closes Friday 16 October

🌟 Following the Gala, our popular National Suzuki Workshop (NSW) will take place in Birmingham from Tuesday 30 March – Thursday 1 April, with Teacher Training continuing until Friday 2 April. Full details will follow soon, so keep an eye on our website and watch out for a future mailing! 👀

Everyone is welcome to join us for the Gala concert at the magnificent Birmingham Symphony Hall on Easter Sunday. Tickets will go on sale in mid-November, with ticketing details to follow.

Gala events happen only once every four years - don’t miss this special opportunity to see your child perform in a world-class venue alongside talented Suzuki students and teachers from across the globe. 🌎✨

It promises to be a truly inspirational and magical celebration of Suzuki music. 💙

🎶 The annual Friends of British Suzuki Concert 🎶

The annual Friends of British Suzuki Concert will take place on Saturday 19th September at 6:30pm at St Cuthbert’s Church, in central London.

Some of our wonderful Suzuki teachers will be playing alongside a few stellar alumni under the musical direction of Kate Conway.

Amongst the performers are Helen Brunner, Mona Kodama, Juan Drown, Alice Pinto, Hannah and Emily Biss, Freya Ruuskanen, Kate Conway and alumni Finn Kjaergaard, Gabriella Pedtizi and Teresa de Oliveira.

The concert is a great chance to kick off the new academic year, to catch up with old friends and make new ones.

As it is a fundraising initiative any support is very gratefully received. All donations will be used to enhance teacher training and to provide bursaries for trainees and pupils.

There will be food and drink. If you are a Suzuki trainee, or are thinking of becoming one, do come. No need to buy a ticket. Just drop a line to our trustee, Paola, at [email protected]
