Not everyone who treats you well does it because they genuinely care. , people are only kind because they believe they have something to gain from you.

I learned that lesson the hard way.

About 12 years ago, I had a good job. During that time, I met someone and we became close friends. Everything seemed fine while life was going well. But the moment I lost my job, everything changed.

Instead of encouragement or support, the words I heard were:

"You'd better go and find another job. If you don't, you'll go hungry in this house."

Those words have stayed with me ever since.

Life has taught me that some people celebrate you when you're successful, but disappear or change when you're struggling. That's when you discover who truly values you and who only valued what you could offer.

Never judge your worth by how people treat you during your lowest moments. Your situation can change overnight, but your character, faith, and determination are what will carry you through.

If you're going through a difficult season, don't give up. Keep pushing. The same life that humbled you can lift you again. And when it does, never forget the people who stood by you when you had nothing to give.

Real friendship isn't tested in times of abundance. It's revealed in times of hardship.
