Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has officially opened its largest store yet in Shepshed, marking an exciting milestone as their first-ever furniture shop.

Located in Armstrong's Mill, the store offers a fantastic range of furniture alongside clothes, toys, and books.

Every purchase made helps Rainbows provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care for babies, children, and young people across the East Midlands. Whether you are looking to furnish a room or simply want to learn more about the vital work the hospice does, the team is ready to welcome you.

📍 This year we’re heading somewhere new. For the first time ever, conference will take place at ICC Wales. Join us on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June 2026 for two days of insight, collaboration and big conversations about the future of charity retail.

The theme for 2026 is Stronger together: community-powered retail. Expect inspiring speakers, practical sessions, and plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the sector đź’ˇ

Home-Start Wessex has opened its first-ever family charity shop and support hub, marking a major milestone for the families charity.

The new space combines a retail shop with a welcoming reading corner for families, stocked with clothing, toys and equipment for children and parents. The shop will also host regular activities like storytime sessions and help signpost families to the charity’s support services.

This new venture creates an essential income stream while helping Home-Start Wessex continue transforming the lives of families in crisis across Dorset and surrounding areas.

NEW SHOP SPOTLIGHT đź’ˇ

📍 St Catherine’s Hospice Superstore
37–43 Queensway, Crawley

St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley has officially opened its largest-ever charity shop in central Crawley, with a ribbon cutting by Crawley Mayor Councillor Sharmila Sivarajah and Store Manager Leanne Chew.

The new Superstore is three and a half times bigger than its two previous Crawley shops combined and features over 2,500 items of clothing and shoes, plus furniture, bridalwear, bicycles and an upcycle repair shop coming soon.

With more than 140 volunteers supporting the store, it’s set to create even more opportunities for the local community, while helping fund specialist end of life care across West Sussex and East Surrey.

If you’re in Crawley, this one is well worth a visit.
