Introducing a GPC instagram > & an artist we want to celebrate :D

To kick off our new Instagram we'd like to celebrate Raf Antonio! Antonio is a Latinx multi-disciplinary artist. Through personal story telling in portrait photography and narrative writing, Raf explores empowerment, feminised male beauty and less euro-centric Latin American beauty.

"It was an amazing couple months spent with Raf's work. I get really busy with my own projects that I don't get to really sit with my peer's work, to fully understand the politics and importance of their art. Taking the time to read Raf's essays, his play 'Rope Running Out', as well as spending a moment with each of his Instagram photos, I learned so much about his world. In this next year, GPC will approach our work in a journalistic and curatorial approach, to highlight and celebrate intersectional artists and the work they make. Evermore, we will think of the question we posed last year: What project does the artistic community need and how do we respond to need?

From this question we want to do two things:

In January last year we mentioned creating an artist database and now we're well on our way! The artist database, is a growing list of intersectional artists we want to connect with each other and provide info for you.

And on a monthly basis we write an in depth profile on 1-2 artists from the database. We're calling it Project #3: Artist Profiles. Read our first on Nemo Martin!
