Falling in love with Zambia
It took the Humanity Africa (HA) volunteers one trip to fall head over heels in love with Zambia. 220 kilometres away, nestled in central province is Mkushi and that is where our story begins. We went to discover the country, but ended up leaving our hearts behind in a place with the most amazing people in the world.
Humanity Africa started its work in Mkushi in 2015 with the long term vision of developing self-sustaining social enterprises that would employ Mkushi residents. These residents would then become a part of HA’s network of holistic wrap-around services such as health, nutrition, education and human rights. Today, the team continues to develop services and deliver educational projects on the ground to support the farming population, who make up over 90% of Mkushi’s population. By supporting people to improve family food security we expect Mkushi to exceed development expectations in central province within the next 10 years.
