A little BTS look at life on the road with Karnival Mania 💜🎭
We were grateful to have CNN News join us at our Mas Camp and on the road to experience a little bit of what goes on behind the scenes of a Mas Band in the lead-up to Notting Hill Carnival.
What you see here is only a small snippet of the work, energy, culture and community that goes into bringing Karnival Mania to the road. There’s so much more that happens behind the scenes that doesn’t always get seen, so we’re truly grateful for the opportunity to share a glimpse of it with the world.
It’s also so important for us to document, share and pass down the knowledge that comes with our culture. Educating and inspiring the next generation is a huge part of keeping the spirit, traditions and authenticity of Notting Hill Carnival and carnival in general alive. What we have today has been passed down to us, and it’s our responsibility to make sure there’s something for the next generation to carry forward. 💜
