An Anglican church of Anglo-Catholic tradition, founded in 1843 as part of the development of the Grosvenor Estate in north Belgravia. St Paul's today maintains a traditonal pattern of worship and daily prayer, a lively musical tradition and a commitment to good preaching and thoughtful Christian witness. The congregation is as eclectic as it is welcoming - and seeks to be open to all who come from all over the city (and indeed all over the world!), but above all it is a parish church, rooted in the local community.

On Sunday 8th November 2026, you are warmly invited to join us for Remembrance Sunday, as we gather for our Solemn Requiem and observe the national two-minute silence.

👉 Please note that the service will begin at 10:55am, allowing us to join the nation in observing the silence at 11am.

Have you ever noticed the carvings on our Baptismal Font?

Around its sides, beautifully carved scenes tell stories from the life and ministry of Christ - including this tender image of Christ blessing the children.

It recalls Jesus’ words: “Let the little children come to me.” A particularly fitting image for a font: the place where, through Baptism, we are each welcomed into the family of the Church and begin our life in Christ.

On Tuesday, we gathered to celebrate St Michael and All Angels, with Robert Thompson preaching.

And, as a result, we’ve spent rather too much time this week noticing quite how many angels there are around St Paul’s Knightsbridge…

So naturally, here is a carousel of them amongst some photographs from the service itself. From stained glass and statues to vestments and woodwork, angels are almost everywhere you look.

🦁 Have you ever noticed the lion on our Bodley reredos?

He belongs to St Jerome - priest, theologian and biblical scholar, best known for translating the Bible into Latin in what became known as the Vulgate. The Church gives thanks for his work and witness today.

But why a lion? Legend tells that a wounded lion once entered Jerome’s monastery. While everyone else fled, Jerome removed a thorn from its paw and cared for it. From then on, the lion became his faithful companion - and his unmistakable symbol in Christian art.

But why is Jerome here at St Paul’s Knightsbridge?

Look closely and you’ll find him alongside Ambrose, Augustine and Gregory the Great: the four great Doctors of the Western Church. Together, surrounding Christ, they represent the ancient tradition of teaching, Scripture and faith which so inspired the Oxford Movement - and the Anglo-Catholic vision of St Paul’s Knightsbridge.

Next time you’re in the church, see if you can spot Jerome - and his lion.

Who is St Michael - and what does he have to do with the beginning of the university term?

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of St Michael and All Angels, or Michaelmas - a celebration with a history stretching back more than a thousand years.

Then join us this evening at 7pm for our Michaelmas Solemn Eucharist, with Robert Thompson, Vicar of St Mary’s with All Souls, Kilburn and St James’s, West Hampstead, as our guest preacher.

Today the Church remembers Lancelot Andrewes (1555–1626) - bishop, scholar, preacher and one of the great figures of the Anglican tradition.

Andrewes lived more than 200 years before the Oxford Movement, but his emphasis on sacrament, tradition, the Early Church and the beauty of worship made him an important inspiration for those seeking to recover the Church of England’s Catholic heritage.

That makes his place in the chancel here at St Paul’s Knightsbridge particularly fitting. From its earliest days, St Paul’s Knightsbridge stood at the forefront of the Oxford Movement in London.

His presence reminds us that the Catholic revival wasn’t about inventing something new, but rediscovering something much older - an inheritance of faith, worship and beauty that continues here today.

Come and stand where generations have worshipped, look around the chancel, and discover the people who shaped the tradition we continue today.

A group of pilgrims have gathered at the The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham (Anglican) for a weekend of pilgrimage, prayer and fellowship.

Following in the footsteps of generations of pilgrims who have journeyed to this holy place, the weekend offers time away from the busyness of everyday life: to worship together, to be still, to pray for those we love and for the needs of the world, and to draw closer to Christ in the company of his Mother.

We hold them in our prayers throughout their pilgrimage and look forward to welcoming them home renewed and refreshed.

There’s something rather special about travelling together.

This summer, The Church of England is encouraging us to reminisce about the places pilgrimage has taken us - so we’ve been digging through the archives and revisiting some of our favourite St Paul’s Knightsbridge trips from recent years.

🥾 We’ve walked stretches of the Camino.
✨ Stood beneath the extraordinary Byzantine mosaics of Ravenna.
🌊 Followed in the footsteps of the northern saints on Lindisfarne.
⛪ And travelled, prayed, eaten, laughed and explored together in plenty of places in between.

Because pilgrimage isn’t only about where you go. It’s about the people you travel with, the conversations along the way, and occasionally discovering at dinner that the person you’ve been sitting three pews away from for years has a fascinating story to tell.

As the final notes rang out yesterday, we waved our wonderful choir off for a well-deserved summer break. 🎶

If you missed their beautiful musical offering at our Solemn Eucharist, you can still watch it via the link in our bio.

Throughout August, our Sunday worship will take on a simpler rhythm as we give our choir, serving team, clergy, and the many people who make our liturgy and welcome possible the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned rest.

But the doors of St Paul’s Knightsbridge remain wide open. Join us every Sunday at 11am for Mass as we continue to gather in prayer, worship, and fellowship through the summer. Daily Offices on offer throughout the Summer break can be found on our website, too.
