The Clink Charity The Clink Charity provides an opportunity for people in prison to gain new skills and qualifications in catering and horticulture.

The Clink Restaurant provides a real working environment for prisoners to learn and gain NVQ qualifications in food preparation and food service. Seasonal food is prepared and cooked in an open plan kitchen enabling diners the opportunity to watch food preparation. Offering a memorable dining experience, The Clink Restaurant also offers businesses and members of the public the chance to help The Clink Charity reduce reoffending rates by changing public perception and provide prisoners with true-to-life work experience of the hospitality industry.

30 prisoners work a 40 hour week either in the kitchen or restaurant before returning to their cells at the end of each working day. As part of the training programme graduates receive dedicated support from a Clink mentor to secure full-time employment upon their release to ease their reintegration back into society and help them to avoid reoffending. Each diner who visits The Clink Restaurant is helping to simulate a true-to-life working environment that is essential for the continued development of the prisoners in training. The restaurant seats up to 92 people, with an additional private area for up to 20 people upstairs, a perfect place for meetings, events & private dining.

At The Clink, we're not simply teaching people how to work in hospitality. We're helping them build the skills, confidence and purpose needed to create a future beyond prison.

At The Clink Gardens, students learn valuable horticultural skills while nurturing crops that become part of the food served in our restaurants and catering events. From chillies destined for our chilli sauce to fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs, every crop reflects the dedication, progress and potential of the people growing it.

✨ We’re investing in our restaurant at HMP Brixton.

From 24 August to 9 September, The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton will be closed while we carry out an exciting refurbishment.

The improvements will create an even better experience for our guests – but, importantly, they will also provide an enhanced training environment for our students, helping them develop hospitality and catering skills, gain valuable real-world experience and prepare for employment beyond custody.

We’re already taking bookings for our reopening on 10 September and look forward to welcoming you back to experience the refreshed restaurant.
