I have taken this from my uncles post. However I do not accept GM Syed Benazir and ZA Bhutto as leaders. One of them was corrupt, the other was not sincere with his people and the third had no religious affiliation with islam
When the British occupied Sindh in 1843, the population of Sindh was around one million to one and a half million. Britain was the world's superpower. The sun had set on the Nawabs of Bengal, the Marathas of Maharashtra, and the Mughal Empire in India. Despite knowing all this, the Sindhis drew their swords and clashed with the world's superpower with broken cannons. Five thousand Sindhis sacrificed their lives. (From which the slogan of Hoshoo "Marsoon Marvesoon, Sindh na desoon" was born.)
The Britains occupied the north and south of Sindh by beheading five thousand Sindhis, but in the north-east, Rana Ratan Singh Sodho of Amarkot did not surrender his arms, while Roplo Kolhi, along with her rebel comrades, continued to fight from Karunjhar and until 1858, when he accepted hanging instead of surrendering. Similarly, Rana Ratan Singh was also crucified with great "glory" in the fort of Amarkot (and on the same day the folk song “Rana to man raj theenda, Rana to man lakha theenda” was born in Sindh.)
In the independence movement of 1857, the soldiers of Sindh led by Ramuddin raised the slogan of independence, who was tied to cannons and blown up along with 22 of his comrades in Karachi. The Britains built the Empress Market at the same place so that people would forget the place and the incident.
Sindhis played an important role in the “Swadeshi” movement that began in Calcutta in 1905. Foreign goods were boycotted in Karachi, Hyderabad and Shikarpur, and twenty-year-old Gordhan Sharma was sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of sedition. This was the first judicial sentence that a political activist received in Sindh. Then in 1930, when the “Satyagarh” movement was launched, many cities and towns in Sindh came out against the white rule. 724 people, including women, were arrested and sentenced.
Sindh also played an important role in the “Quit India Movement”. Hemon Kalani was martyred, Comrade Sobho Gianchandani, Gobind Malhi and many Sindhi leaders went to jail. The leader of these Congress movements was Acharya Jivatram Bhagwan Das Kriplani, who was the Central General Secretary of the Congress from 1934 to 1946 and the President of the Congress at the time of partition in 1947.
Finally who can forget that the “Hurr Movement” (from 1941 until 1946). On the orders of Pir Pagara, the Sindhis raised the slogan of “Watan ya Kafan” against the Gora Raj, in which thousands of free men were martyred, Pir Sahib was hanged, and more than 250,000 men, women and children were made prisoners.
And who do they call themselves the founders of Pakistan?
Those who called then “Indians” as long as they were in power!
When Pakistan was formed by the resolution of the Sindh Assembly, these fugitives fled their homeland and came to the new country of Pakistan. It is enough to say to them that brothers, if you were so much of a tyrant, wouldn’t you have created your own country in UP, CP? Or at least created your own province instead of fleeing!
Thus, let everyone who asks know that this Sindh is the land of Hoshoo, Hemu, Rupali, Suriyah Badshah, Mai Jindo, Bakhtawar, Zulfikar Bhutto, Benazir, Murtaza, Haider Bakhsh Jatoi, G.M. Syed and Rasool Bakhsh Palijo. It is the land of the heirs of these great leaders, not of the child of any establishment in UP, CP or Deccan, nor is it the estate of any Chaudhry or Naqvi
