MRN is a campaigning organisation and a support and solidarity network that works with like-minded people and organisations working to amplify and centre the voices, issues and demands of migrants and grassroots group's to challenge repressive immigration policies. We achieve change by strengthening and supporting migrant leadership and the capacity of the organisations that work with migrants, policy and advocacy, collective action and legal approaches. Our approach is to be accessible, inclusive, broad and intersectional. Our campaigns and the issues we work on change depending on what the context and need is. CORE VALUES:

Migrant- centred – MRN places at the heart of its work the experiences and perspectives of migrants to ensure it is accountable to those impacted by immigration and wider policies and practices. Justice for all migrants– MRN works for the rights of ALL migrants. Intersectional– MRN approaches its work with the understanding that people will experience multiple forms of oppression, where immigration status/migration experience is but one factor. Leadership– MRN strives to be daring and determined and speak ‘truth to power’ to obtain justice and equality for migrants. MRN also recognise that where it holds power, it must be held to account by those affected by the immigration systems. Solidarity– MRN builds the power of those affected by the immigration system and works in alliances to strengthen efforts to further the rights of all migrants. Did you catch the London Marathon today? 🏃🏽‍♀️

From where we were standing, it looked like thousands of people choosing to move, together.

Our supporter Shantie Toolsie turned this movement into solidarity - she completed the marathon to fundraise for our work alongside migrants, grassroots and migrant-led organisations, in their fight for rights and justice.

To move is human.
Across finish lines. Across borders. Towards safety, dignity and justice.

We’re working towards a world where everyone is free to move and no one is forced to move.

The UK is part of a fast-tracked process that could narrow our protections against inhumane treatment and state intrusion into family life.

These rights are vital for migrants and migratised who people facing detention, removal, and surveillance.

There's no evidence for restricting these protections - only a political narrative that treats migrants as expendable.

We refuse these measures. Human rights belong to us all.

cannot be understood without understanding . It’s time we recognise the role that colonialism plays in causing , in creating borders and immigration systems, and in shaping narratives around migration. That means migrant justice cannot be achieved without .

Decolonisation looks like abolishing borders and the systems of oppression, such as and , that they uphold. It also looks like putting an end to the colonial legacies that continue to displace people across the world and defying the colonial narratives surrounding migrants and migration.

What does migrant justice mean to you? We want to hear your thoughts this International Migrants Day (and beyond!) To share your thoughts on what migrant justice means to you, you can email us ([email protected]), DM us, or tag us on social media, using the hashtags and . You can also screenshot and fill in our template (which you can find at the below link) with your own definition, which you can then share to socials too!

Today, the Government has announced “crackdowns” on those without permission to work while gleefully congratulating itself for ramping up cruel and .

The timing of this announcement which criminalises is particularly tragic and pertinent following the murder of people seeking asylum in Dunkirk overnight. This kind of dehumanising policy and rhetoric we see spouted by the Government today feeds escalating anti-migrant hate.

At the Migrants’ Rights Network, we’ve been campaigning for greater transparency around opaque immigration raids, surveillance and deportation policies. We call on the Government to abandon authoritarian measures which intimidate racialised and migrant communities.

Our thoughts go out to the loved ones of those who have died at the Dunkirk camp, we cannot begin to comprehend the grief you must be feeling at this horrific time.

We extend our solidarity to the Syrian people, including Syrians in our community, in their ongoing struggle for freedom, and we share in the Syrian people’s hopes for a better future free from all forms of oppression.

Despite the end of Assad’s cruel regime, there are a number of imperialist forces, such as Israel, the US and Turkey, that continue to inflict violence and suffering on the Syrian people. For those wishing to leave, the announcement that the UK, and multiple countries across Europe, will not process their asylum applications, is utterly cruel. Alongside the mental anguish and distress this will cause, it also infringes on their right to seek .

If the UK Government truly cared about Syrians, it would allow them the dignity of choice: to decide on their own terms where they want to live- whether that be the UK, , or somewhere else.
