Your vote can help contribute to the health of UK rivers! 🌊

Voting is still open for the People’s Choice Award at the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, where seventeen-year-old Devansh Srivastava is representing the UK with his project, NitroGauge.

Following the Environment Agency’s 2025 report that all assessed rivers and lakes in England contain chemical pollution, NitroGauge offers an innovative solution to monitor and remove nitrate pollution before it reaches our waterways.

You only have until 20 August 2026 to show your support for NitroGauge and its potential to help reduce river pollution and improve the health of our waterways.

✅ Vote for Devansh in the People’s Choice Award: https://stockholmwaterfoundation.org/stockholm-junior-water-prize/community/vote/

Great to see this – looking forward to what's coming up next in this space 👏

Visit https://www.ewsc.org.uk/ to explore the work that we have been doing to support rainwater harvesting in new homes.

💧 Even though Parliament is in summer recess, work on tackling our water challenges doesn't stop.

Over the summer, my team and I have been working on finalising my Private Members' Bill, which looks at how we can encourage the reuse of rainwater in new homes, using it for things like toilet flushing instead of relying on treated drinking water.

As droughts become more frequent, we are seeing increasing pressure on our water resources. In some areas, water shortages are already creating barriers to new housing developments. We need to think differently about how we use water and build homes that are fit for the future.

That's why I'm working on bringing together experts from across the water sector and the housebuilding industry for a roundtable in September. By working together, we can explore practical ways to make rainwater reuse a standard feature of sustainable new homes.

Protecting our water resources and building the homes we need should go hand in hand. 🏡💧
