Kingston Cemetery Nature Group

Kingston Cemetery Nature Group We are a network passionate about Kingston's Wildlife, promoting conservation events and biodiversity news.

This is not a business - we are all volunteers, we use our own personal tools, or ones which have been donated to us.

If the amount of plastic in Kingston Cemetery concerns you (and many of us spend spare time tidying up such rubbish), you might consider signing this petition to sensitively phase it out. This has been successfully done elsewhere. https://moderngov.kingston.gov.uk/mgEPetitionDisplay.aspx?ID=172&RPID=134771831&HPID=134771831

Please note there can be a delay of some hours between registering a password on this petition site and having your signature accepted. Keep trying!

This page exists specifically for the local people who already volunteer in Kingston Cemetery, in SW London, in England, and anyone who would be interested in joining the group. The cemetery is a relatively small area, about 35 acres I think. We are only interested in the wildlife, flora and fauna, that exists within that cemetery. Please do not post stuff about anything else on this page. We are a very small, very local voluntary group. Any random or irrelevant posting will be deleted and blocked. Thank you. And a special message for Meta - we do not have money to pay for advertising our voluntary group. What is it that you do not understand about the term "voluntary?"

“Our results show that the next 20 years will be decisive. The choices we make now will set Britain on a path either towards accelerating biodiversity loss or towards nature recovery.” https://www.ceh.ac.uk/press/we-have-just-20-years-stop-spiralling-decline-british-biodiversity?fbclid=IwY2xjawQ8SpZleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEe2H4dPnBmkynYsY5cHcy-VWupW80BlRXFErDeCKyfuAb2aKiyaFwMBrDKdtY_aem_wcjX-BQuOAVn8J9RtFpxyg

There is a closing 20-year window in which decisions on climate and land use will determine the fate of dozens of native birds, butterflies and plants across Great Britain, says a new study led by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology.
