Thanks to Professor David Kerr and the Laidlaw pipe band for recording their Scottish music and linking it to the AMAR Yazidi women's choir in an interesting cultural mash up. Just in time for the New Year and Burns night !
It's wild, fun and energised.

The Yazidis still live in Khanke refugee/ IDP camp in N.Iraq near Dohuk.
AMAR Foundation set up music lessons for the camp's children and a choir to support their mental health and preserve the Yazidi culture, which is vulnerable following the genocide in 2014, ISIS attacks and living in tents for 11 years.

In sharing and listening to this music you are directly supporting the Yazidis and their cultural resilience.

AMAR have run a very successful summer school for Ukrainian refugee children in Romania. The activities are very cultural and broad, designed to distract them from the war, their fathers who are fighting and the impact on their families- and help their resilience and mental health. AMAR has just finished a two week summer camp for Ukrainian children, held in the safety of Romania.

25 children, who have lived under shelling and bombing for the last three years, got to take part in sport, art, dancing, handicraft and cooking, under the careful eye of their teachers.

They were joined by a dozen children from the local Romanian Special Needs School.

The children all agreed the best part was being outside in nature, and not hiding in a basement. most had not seen their fathers for 6 months, some for 3 years.

With thanks to the Mayor of Sighet and the local museum for their support.

This is the fourth summer camp for Ukrainian refugee and displaced children. AMAR has now served nearly 150 children
