The Honor Frost Foundation promotes the advancement and research of maritime archaeology with a focus on the eastern Mediterranean

The Honor Frost Foundation was founded in 2011. Honor Frost was an early pioneer in the field of underwater archaeology. When Honor died in 2010 she left the bulk of her estate to establish the foundation to promote maritime archaeology with a focus on the eastern Mediterranean. The Foundation's mission is to promote the advancement and research, including publication, of maritime archaeology with

a particular but not exclusive focus on the eastern Mediterranean with an emphasis on Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Cyprus.

Yesterday, the Heritage Alliance have launched From Local to Global: The Power of Heritage in a Changing World, a new report demonstrating how the UK's heritage sector strengthens international relationships through shared expertise, cultural diplomacy and global collaboration.
We were pleased to contribute to this research with the inclusion of our case study on the amazing work done by our Honor Frost Foundation Lebanon Team. One of our UK-based maritime archaeologists, Lauren Tidbury, attended the event.

From climate resilience to peacebuilding, and from skills exchange to community cohesion, the report draws on more than 30 case studies from organisations of all sizes and all continents to show what's already been achieved, and what could be possible with greater investment and support.

Produced with the support of Europa Nostra UK and World Monuments Fund Britain, the report makes the case for heritage as a cornerstone of the UK's soft power in anticipation of the UK government's forthcoming Soft Power Strategy.
