At our last meeting members enjoyed sharing stories of afternoon tea experiences. Afterwards we shared home made cakes, scones and sandwiches, washed down with glasses of fizz 🥂. We were also delighted to spot some peregrine falcons overhead. They have recently made Alexandra Palace their home and it was delightful to watch them.
We take a break in August but our thanks to Chris Randall who is hosting with tea and cakes at her home. Thanks Chis, we are looking forward to catching up.

This afternoon members had a stall at the Muswell Hill and District Horticultural Society Summer Show. A first for us, and we had a great time in the sunshine 🌞 We made lots of new friends, including the new Mayor of Haringey! Lots of networking and making plans for future events! We'll be back!

At our June meeting we welcomed Sarah Rundle, storyteller. Her theme was Women who bore through walls and she told us stories from Renaissance Italy, Morocco and from 18th century England. The stories told tales of women imprisoned by jealous spouses who tunelled their way to freedom and survived and thrived. Members made an enthusiastic audience and energetically joined in with the musical accompaniment.
Our birthday member June shared her wonderful cakes with us. Next meeting afternoon tea!

May Meeting - AGM - Members arrived clutching a variety of very old photos!
The AGM was at the beginning of the meeting and we heard comprehensive reports from the secretary and treasurer. Yvette Rathbone, our WI Adviser took over proceedings for the elections of the committee and the president.
Our new Committee is Rosemary Pettman (President) Chris Randall (Secretary) Nina Jewell (Treasurer), Mary Coutts, Norma Barnes and Joan Prasad. Our thanks to Gill Whitney and Diane Morrison for their valuable contributions over the years. Thank you for showing your confidence in the committee as we serve you for another year.
Yvette judged the competition, congratulations to Jaqui for the oldest item. It was interesting to see the variety of items that members came up with and the stories behind them. It was also interesting to realise how welsh our membership is!
We celebrated with tea and biscuits – delicious!
