Green Shoots was privileged to attend the UK-Cambodia architecture roundtable in Phnom Penh, a wonderful event celebrating King Charles III's birthday, hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce Cambodia and the Department for Business and Trade. British Embassy in Cambodia

The roundtable truly highlighted the best of UK-Cambodia architectural excellence. A great platform to share our work and connect!

We showcased our agri-tech centre, giving the 300 attendees of this event a close look at the project's unique construction and development journey. On our display you can see the unique earthblocks used for construction and bamboo screens. This awardwining eco-building is the hub for all agroecology and community farming activities in Oddar Meanchey Cambodia.

It was inspiring to be part of discussions on architectural innovation and cross-cultural collaboration.

From meeting our partner CE SAIN Cambodia in Phnom Penh to being in the province for our Plant Planet Plate research. A three week fieldwork into wildfoods of North West Cambodia. foraged either for medicinal purposes or simply because they taste great..

Just three days into our interviews we have learnt about a new plant every day, how it is cooked and surprisingly many that are already growing in the Green Shoots Mondul Kasikam Sahat K*m OMC Cambodia ទីកន្លែងៈ មណ្ឌល់បណ្តុះបណ្តាលកសិកម្មស

The wealth of knowledge on plants, edibles and mushrooms is remarkable in this rural part of Cambodia. Most individuals are custodians of this knowledge that has been orally passed down or acquired- and we hope to record as much of this as possible to preserve and share it with the world.

We are so excited to host this National Geographic Explorer study at our Centre in Samrong NW Cambodia. The research will be published online as a database and will go into the history of various popular plants, their uses and status.

Here is a prototype of the database https://juncture-digital.org/athaodam/plant-planet-plate/ developed by Dr Ashley Thuthao Keng Dam who is the principal investigator (and Nat Geo awardee!) for this research.
