We’re excited to announce that the winner of this years’ Royal Society Trivedi Science Book Prize is the 'The Age of Alchemy: How Early Innovators Shaped Modern Chemistry' by Kit Chapman.

This ‘dazzling’ globetrotting adventure traces chemistry through time and continents, long before the Enlightenment – from the first chemists who forged unimaginably strong steel in Sri Lanka millennia before it should have been possible to alchemists in Roman Egypt, such as Mary the Jewess, who designed apparatus still in use today.
