Games gone? Nope, it’s only just beginning.

Our Sports Project started the week delivering the first in a series of 4x all-day ‘Masculinities, Anti-Misogyny & VAWG-Prevention’ trainings through the Premier League Foundation to football club charity staff from across the country. The first session was held at Premier League HQ in London and was action packed with reflection, exploration and strategy-sourcing from the first whistle to the last.

We’ll be engaging and supporting the club charity network around the country with deliveries over the coming months. Next up: Wolverhampton Wanderers away in September. Premier League

Sometimes the most important moments in sport happen when the game pauses.

By the end of the World Cup, there will have been 208 hydration breaks: that’s 624 minutes, or over 10 hours, of moments where players pause, regroup, communicate and support each other.

Each break lasts around 3 minutes.

On their own, those moments might not seem like much. But over time, small moments add up.

A few minutes to:
-Check in with a mate
-Really listen
-Have a conversation that matters

can make a bigger difference than we realise.

So as the tournament comes to an end, we’re taking one lesson beyond the pitch:
Take a hydration break, but for having the conversations that matter.

Yesterday, we brought together partners, practitioners and changemakers for the launch of the **BE x McCain Dad & Son Connection Report** exploring how everyday moments of connection between dads and sons can help shape healthier relationships, stronger communication and more positive ideas of masculinity. 💙

From sharing a meal to creating space for honest conversations, the report highlights the small moments that can have a big impact on how boys and men understand themselves and each other.

We also launched our new **Masculinities and Fatherhood seminar**, creating space to reflect on the role fathers can play in supporting boys’ emotional wellbeing and challenging restrictive expectations around masculinities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experiences and contributed to such an important conversation.

Ending violence against women and girls (VAWG) is everyone’s business. For too long, women and girls have shouldered the burden of tackling this abuse. But if we are to truly end VAWG, men and boys must be actively engaged and holding each other accountable.

That’s why today, , and a growing coalition of partner organisations are launching : Principles for work with men and boys to end violence against women and girls.

Gender equality is good for all of us. The same harmful gender norms that drive VAWG also restrict men and boys. Our principles provide a framework rooted in intersectional feminism, ensuring that work with men and boys remains accountable to survivors. They demand systemic change and reject the narrative that equality is a zero-sum game.

Every time we watch it, it gets more and more wholesome - a simple reminder of how powerful it is when dads and sons share time, laughter, and everyday moments together.

There’s something really interesting about how much meaning sits in these small moments of connection - the ones that don’t always get named, but shape relationships in a lasting way.
