Chance UK

Chance UK We mentor 5-13 year old children with behavioural difficulties. Are you positive and enthusiastic? Could you be a volunteer mentor?

Mentors help children increase their confidence and self esteem so they are better able to manage their behaviour. Mentors help children increase their aspirations by introducing them to a wide range of activities in London. We work in the London Boroughs of Enfield, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Waltham Forest and Westminster. We are looking for volunteer mentors, get in touch if this could be you.

Looking for a simple, creative way to help build a child's confidence? Try origami, as recommended by one of our Youth Workers, Anya 🧠✨

This calming, hands-on activity helps children develop focus, patience, and belief in their own abilities — one fold at a time. Every finished shape is a reminder: “I can do this.” Start small with a flower💮and slowly work your way up to something more challenging like a dog🐶.

A small craft with a big impact. 💪 If you give this a go in school or at home with any young people, share their origami creations in the comments below🧡

🎭💬 "Knock, knock! Who’s there? Oh—it’s Sadness. What do you need today?" 💛

Last week, we used a creative role-playing game to help one of our young mentees understand her emotions in a whole new way! 🌈✨

First, she drew and named her feelings—from Angry to Excited to Lonely. Then each day, we practiced imagining what those emotions might need when they came knocking. Maybe a cuddle? A deep breath? A dance party? 💃🧸🫶

Learning emotional awareness doesn’t have to be boring—it can be playful, powerful, and packed with imagination. 🧠❤️

😖Is your child feeling overwhelmed? Does your child struggle to communicate their feelings?

This we wanted to share some of our Youth Workers favourite emotional management tasks🗣️

By getting your child to write out their emotions and rank them 1-5 you have an easy to use communicative tool that can help your child recognise their emotions and allow you to work through each emotion appropriately with your child. Working through difficult emotions together can help build trust and promote more open communication📝🤝
