The Cameron Fund The Cameron Fund is the only medical benevolent charity which solely supports general practitioners a We are the GPs' own charity.

We are the only medical benevolent charity which supports solely general practitioners and their dependants. We are the youngest of the national medical charities and since our creation, in 1970, we have distributed over £4 million in grants and loans and have assisted over 1,000 beneficiaries. We are here to support the 59,000 GPs and their dependants and also retired GPs and doctors who have com

pleted a programme of specialty training for general practice. Most general practitioners will never need to contact us but for those doctors who encounter financial difficulties our support can be crucial. We are both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. Any GP or former GP may become a member of the company by completing the membership application form. Members may vote on the Fund's business at General Meetings and are eligible to seek election as a trustee enabling them to participate more fully in our work. Our constitution allows us to have up to twenty trustees, each serving for three year period. Trustees are drawn from all over the United Kingdom to ensure adequate geographical representation.

We are very proud to say that we have been awarded a grant of £8,000 by BMA Giving. This will help us to provide financial support to working age GPs facing financial hardship through ill-health, disability, bereavement or loss of employment. The grant will make a huge difference and we are very grateful to the BMA for this support.
