The Cameron Fund The Cameron Fund is the only medical benevolent charity which solely supports general practitioners a We are the GPs' own charity.

We are the only medical benevolent charity which supports solely general practitioners and their dependants. We are the youngest of the national medical charities and since our creation, in 1970, we have distributed over £4 million in grants and loans and have assisted over 1,000 beneficiaries. We are here to support the 59,000 GPs and their dependants and also retired GPs and doctors who have completed a programme of specialty training for general practice. Most general practitioners will never need to contact us but for those doctors who encounter financial difficulties our support can be crucial. We are both a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. Any GP or former GP may become a member of the company by completing the membership application form. Members may vote on the Fund's business at General Meetings and are eligible to seek election as a trustee enabling them to participate more fully in our work. Our constitution allows us to have up to twenty trustees, each serving for three year period. Trustees are drawn from all over the United Kingdom to ensure adequate geographical representation.

We are proud to say that we have been awarded a grant of £10,000 by BMA Giving. This will help us to provide financial support to working age GPs by providing Money Advice and grants to help them cover their essential household expenditure, emergency items like car or household repairs and back to work costs.
