🤝 Building Connections That Matter – Impactful Networking Workshop for Engineers

Last Saturday, we had the opportunity to participate in the Impactful Networking Workshop for Engineers held at POSK in London.

As engineers, we often focus on developing technical knowledge, professional qualifications, and project experience. However, this workshop reminded us that professional success is not determined solely by technical expertise. The opportunities we discover, the people who recommend us, and the projects we become involved in are often shaped by the relationships we build throughout our careers.

During this engaging and highly practical workshop, participants explored how to approach networking with confidence, authenticity, and purpose. We learned that successful networking is not about collecting contacts, but about building trust, creating value for others, and developing meaningful professional relationships over time.

One particularly thought-provoking lesson was the idea that building trust requires consistency and commitment. Research suggests that it can take approximately 7 hours of interaction, 11 meaningful touchpoints, and engagement across 4 different environments or contexts before a professional relationship develops into a business opportunity. This highlights the importance of staying connected, following up, and investing in relationships for the long term.

A huge thank you to Wojtek Kolodziejczak for sharing his knowledge, energy, and practical experience. His interactive approach, real-life examples, and actionable advice gave participants valuable tools that can be applied immediately in both their professional and personal lives.

We would also like to thank everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions, creating a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere throughout the day.

We look forward to seeing you at future STP events!
