Mums in the wood

A space where initially mums & dads who lived in and around St. John's Wood could exchange ideas, post news and share knowledge.

We have now expanded to all areas of London so parents from all over are welcome to share. Mumsinthewood started off initially as a way of maintaining sanity and getting niggling children’s theme tunes out of my head. I neither expected nor planned for the sudden explosion of interest and support I had from parents. Having been born in St John’s Wood, (always home in my heart) it now covers all of North London and is continuing to expand across other areas of London. It is first and foremost a place for parents to find support, ask and have questions answered about everything from parenting to education. The Education group is constantly evolving and strives to bring parents and schools together to achieve an open and honest insight into the British education system via interviews, consultations, talks, assessments and workshops which are all geared towards advising, guiding and supporting parents throughout their child’s academic journey. Parents are welcome to join the group and check out the information freely available on the website, www.mumsinthewoodeducation.com
The Community group has been set up to create forums, support networks and set up meetings for expectant mothers, new parents, parents new to the area, expats, locals and parent entrepreneurs to come together and build relationships, learn, guide and support each other. We also have meetings with experts, interviews and guest articles on the website www.mumsinthewood.com and would like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us. Mums In The Wood also supports parents of children with additional needs and would like to encourage parents to join The SEND Circle page which functions not only as a support network but also has a wealth of information and resources that parents can access. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1136978666392057/

Mumsinthewood is very pleased to announce that we now have two bases from which we work. We have opened an office in West Hampstead and we also work at Jackson's Lane Arts Centre in Highgate. If you would like to register for preparation from 3+ all the way to GCSEs, we have now opened registration for next year and have started our waiting lists. Lessons will start when the current cohort finish at the end of January. Please note that several weekend slots have already been taken so should you want a weekend, please do let us know as soon as possible. We start play based learning from 18 months onwards. Please email us on [email protected] for more details. There are still some spaces for the 4+ and 7+ camps over October half term. Please see the website for details.
