For the next 90 minutes, it can.

At midday today, our week of fundraising for young carers comes to an end – and with it, the opportunity to have your donation matched £1 for £1 by our partner White Stuff.

The funds we raise will help Create provide creative opportunities for young carers across the UK: from the materials they use to explore their ideas, to workshops led by our professional artists, and dedicated opportunities to express themselves, develop new skills, connect with others and enjoy being creative.

Every donation made before midday will still be doubled:

£25 becomes £50.
£50 becomes £100.

❤️ A young carer is someone under 18 who helps look after a family member or friend who needs support because of illness, disability, a mental health condition or substance misuse.

But caring doesn't look the same for every young person.

It can mean helping around the home, looking after siblings, providing emotional support or checking that someone they love is okay. And for some young people, these responsibilities are such a normal part of life that they may not think of themselves as a “young carer” at all.

🎾 Caring for someone can also mean having less time for hobbies, friendships and themselves.

Through our inspired programme, we give young carers the chance to step away from their responsibilities, explore their creativity and connect with other young people.

But for many young carers, caring responsibilities don’t stop when school does.

72% of young carers surveyed said they miss out during the school holidays because of their caring role.

🌎 Every young carer’s experience is different.

In this video, young carers from our projects share some of their own experiences of caring - from looking after siblings and parents to speaking on behalf of a family member, and having to organise their downtime with friends around their caring responsibilities.

⌛ These responsibilities can take up time that other young people might spend socialising, exploring their interests or simply focusing on themselves.

That’s why we’re fundraising to Give Young Carers the Space to Create.

For many young carers, that time is spent caring for someone they love.

New research from Carers Trust found that 59% of young carers spend at least three hours a day caring. At the same time, 50% spend less than one hour a day on hobbies and other activities.

Young carers do an incredible amount for others. They deserve time and space for themselves, too.

Through our inspired:arts programme, Create gives young carers opportunities to explore their creativity, connect with other young people and focus on something that's theirs.

More than 800,000 children and young people across the UK have caring responsibilities, balancing looking after someone they love with school, friendships and growing up.

Today, we’re launching a week of fundraising to help us provide creative opportunities for young carers ahead of Young Carers Action Day 2027.

Tomorrow, we’re giving young carers the space to create. ❤️

Throughout our creative arts projects, young carers tell us what having dedicated time to create can mean to them: time to express themselves, connect with others, try something new and simply enjoy being creative.

Tomorrow, you’ll hear directly from some of the young people who have taken part in our projects, as we launch a week-long fundraising campaign to support more creative opportunities for young carers.

And for one week, your support will go twice as far.
