In his own words:
“Receiving the Outstanding Individual Award at the London Dangoor Awards 2026 is an honour that means more to me than I can easily put into words.
For the past 15 years, the Rukhsana Khan Foundation has been a deeply personal journey of service to the community. As Founder and Trustee, I have had the privilege of standing alongside vulnerable families in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, particularly those facing poverty, food insecurity and difficult times. We have never done this work for recognition. We do it because we believe that everyone deserves dignity, compassion and a helping hand when they need it most.
That is why this award feels so special. It is not simply recognition for me as an individual; it is recognition of the countless volunteers, supporters, donors, partners and members of our community who have helped make RKF what it is today. Most importantly, it belongs to the families and individuals we have had the privilege of supporting over the years.
There have been challenging moments, but there have also been countless moments of kindness, generosity and hope. Seeing a family receive food when they are struggling, seeing someone regain confidence, or simply knowing that someone feels they are not alone makes every hour, every challenge and every sacrifice worthwhile.
I accept this award with enormous gratitude and humility. It reminds me that even small acts of kindness can create a lasting difference.
After 15 years, this recognition gives me renewed motivation to continue the work of the Rukhsana Khan Foundation and to keep doing what we have always tried to do: help alleviate poverty, restore dignity and bring hope to vulnerable families in our community.
I dedicate this award to everyone who has been part of the RKF journey. This is our award, and our journey continues.”
