1 MORE DAY TO GO! 🎤💜

Well… tomorrow is the day whoop!

Tonight our performers will be practising one last time, families will be getting everything ready and Lisa Robins and I will be checking those lists for the hundredth time. 😂

And me? Excited, nervous and probably running on coffee!

Tomorrow I will stand on that stage so proud , my head held high and welcome everyone to the 15th year of Autism’s Got Talent. Fifteen years… where has that time gone?

There are so many people who help make this show what it is.

A huge thank you to my AKO wonderful volunteers and sponsors, our special guests and our audience made up of families, friends and supporters of our charity.

You are all part of this celebration. 🎉

Thank you to Maggie Paterson , Fiona Shepherd and the PPAS Dance & Performing Arts School students for supporting us for 15 years, and to Lisa for sticking with me for all 15 years I know I drive her mad sometimes! 😂

Thank you to my MCs Philip Barnett and Aston Avery , and a special thank you to our Patron Steven Smith for his continued support of our charity over the years and, personally, for his friendship. ❤️

Thank you also to Tally Nothey and Geena Nothey for all the marketing materials always appreciated.

We will also be sharing a very special 15 year highlights video created by our Ambassador Mr Kieron Lee .
15 years of performers, memories and moments all brought together. I think there may be a few tears!

Most of all, I cannot wait to watch our performers take that stage, give it everything they’ve got and walk off with their chests puffed out, proud of what they have achieved and feeling the appreciation from the audience.
That’s why we do it. ❤️

3 DAYS TO GO whoop ! ⭐️

Right then… we are nearly there!

The programmes are printed, the Mermaid Theatre stage is waiting and our performers are getting ready to show London what they can do.

15 years of Autism’s Got Talent.
I still have to pinch myself when I say that.

What started as one idea back in 2012 has grown into something very special, with performers and families travelling from across the UK, Ireland and overseas to be part of it.

This Saturday is about THEM.
Their talent.
Their moment.
Their stage. 🌟

My team and I are now on the final countdown and the excitement is definitely building!

FOUR DAYS TO GO! 🌟

You can really feel it now whoop!

Messages flying backwards and forwards, last-minute checks, programmes ready, performers rehearsing and Lisa my right hand woman and I are busy bees .

There’s a real buzz amongst us all and I know our performers and their families are counting down too.

After all the planning, very soon those theatre doors will open and it will be SHOWTIME!

I’m excited, nervous, probably running on too much coffee 😂 but most of all I’m ready to see our performers walk on to that stage.

5 DAYS TO GO! ⭐️
I honestly cannot believe I am writing that…its just 5 days until we celebrate 15 years of Autism’s Got Talent whoop! 💜
The nerves are starting to kick in now and that’s just me! 😂
Our performers have been working so hard and soon they’ll be standing on that stage at the Mermaid Theatre showing everyone what they can do.

I will be in my usual seat after my welcome intro with the lovely Maggie Paterson, and then I will sitting in the front row, right in the centre.

If any of our performers get nervous, they know they can look straight at me and I’ll be there willing them on. 🌟

15 years of talent, friendships, confidence, tears, laughter and some absolutely amazing and emotional memories.

We have come a long way from that very first show in 2012.
London… we’re nearly ready for you!

Well, that was a lovely way to spend part of my Saturday! 🌟
One of our Autism’s Got Talent acts, The Childish!, joined me on the sofa with a good friend of our charity, the lovely Nana Akua.

Sadly, their eldest brother Johnson wasn’t well enough to join us, so we’re sending him lots of love and wishing him a speedy recovery. We need you fighting fit for next week Johnson! ❤️

Kale and his sister Indiana gave everyone a little taster of what’s coming, performing a minute of their powerful campaign about knife crime.

I sat there watching them thinking, this is what Autism’s Got Talent is all about. Giving people that platform and letting their voices be heard.

Next week they’ll be on our stage performing the full piece as we celebrate 15 years of Autism’s Got Talent.
15 years! I still have to pinch myself sometimes.
Not long now… and the nerves are definitely starting to kick in! 😂🎤

ONE WEEK TODAY! ⭐️

The Autism’s Got Talent programme is now winging its way to the printers… which means it’s all starting to feel very real!

In just one week, we’ll be celebrating 15 years of Autism’s Got Talent. Fifteen years of incredible performers, proud families, nerves backstage, friendships, laughter and plenty of emotional moments. 💜

A huge thank you to our wonderful sponsors for supporting this year’s show. As a small charity, your support really does make a difference and helps us keep this very special event going.

And to our performers… its not long now!
I know there will be a few butterflies already. I’ll be sitting right there in my usual front row seat, cheering you all on.

If you’ve been saying for years,
“One day I’ll come and see Autism’s Got Talent”… maybe this is now your year. !

Because this one is a bit special 🌟
15 years of Autism’s Got Talent.

When we started all those years ago, I honestly didn’t know where this journey would take us. I just knew I wanted to create a stage where autistic children and adults could showcase their talent and be celebrated for exactly who they are.

And here we are… 15 years later WHOOP!

We have got performers returning from previous years alongside brand new performers taking that stage for the very first time.

Some will be confident.
Some will be absolutely bricking it backstage , and I’ll probably be nearly as nervous as they are! 😂

As always, I will be sitting right in the centre of that front row. If the nerves kick in, they know they can look for me and I’ll be there willing them on.
That bit has never changed.
So if you’ve never experienced Autism’s Got Talent before, come and experience it with us this year.

Bring your family.
Bring a friend.
Bring somebody who has never seen what our performers can do.

Come and help us fill that theatre and give them the audience they deserve.

15 years. One very special night. And plenty of memories still to be made. ❤️
