Another lovely quilt made by Jane at our Tuesday and Thursday morning Needlecrafts sessions for disabled adults. The sessions are led by our wonderful tutor Beryl Streader with fantastic help from volunteers Jean, Alice and Susan.

RIP Margaret Elias

19th October 1950 - 5th April 2024

There has been such deep sadness here at the Centre after the loss of Margaret Elias, who passed away last Friday. Margaret worked at WFDRC for 21 years, making an inestimable contribution as her dedication, leadership abilities and fierce commitment to equality for disabled people took her from the role of Training Officer to Centre Manager. Yet even after her retirement in 2014, Margaret continued to volunteer for our charity, offering invaluable help and advice and becoming a mainstay of the Centre’s very active needlecrafts community. Brainy, wise, kind, always droll and witty, Margaret had a gift for friendship. We will miss her very, very much. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family.

Margaret’s funeral will be held on Monday 29th April at 11.30am
